The Impact of Economic Growth, The Development Ecotourism Area and Environment
Tourism is an important asset in the context of developing the region, advancing the economy of the community, by utilizing the environment as a tourist attraction that holds its own attraction. This concept is referred to as ecotourism or better known as natural tourism. This natural tourism area has various forms, ranging from forest areas, agriculture, rural areas, historical sites, to coastal areas. Certainly, by the development of ecotourism, the impact on the people who live in the region is the existence of economic growth.
This economic growth occurs because of the visit of local and international tourists who want to enjoy nature. Community economic activities also develop with the existence of this ecotourism area, such as the existence of lodging (managed by the community itself), restaurants, souvenir shops, restaurants or restaurants, accommodation (read: transportation) provided by the community itself. This kind of economic activity opens up job opportunities to become bigger and bigger, as well as changes in employment, from agriculture to industry.
The presence of an ecotourism in an area certainly brings the impact felt by the community itself, because people’s income increases, there is an increase in the service and trade sectors, which of course the community’s welfare also increases. Furthermore, the development of this ecotourism area, investment also increased both from the private sector and the government.
The improvements mentioned earlier also have another impact, namely the development of the region increases with the development of infrastructure. This ecotourism area must be managed so that the preservation of the environment is maintained, and supported by the development of infrastructure and management of ecotourism management areas that are well carried out by the community itself and the local government so that its natural potential and attractiveness is maintained.
In this case, the presence of economic growth does not have a good impact on the environment due to pollution and the degradation of environmental quality. The community has an important role in the development of this ecotourism area related to the environment in the region. The community plays a role in managing the environment and has a perception to maintain the tourist attractions as a form of support for the development of ecotourism areas.
Environmental control is an important factor to restore the environment to be free from pollution. Awareness of protecting the environment besides being owned by the local community, tourists who visit must also be aware of maintaining the cleanliness of the ecotourism area so that the environment becomes conducive.
Aware of maintaining the cleanliness of the environment as if it were a culture in the community living in the area. This is influenced because the charm of natural beauty is an attraction for the ecotourism area itself. The development of this ecotourism area is indeed aimed at growing the economy of the community by increasing income and investment, but of course, it must be managed so that the environment is maintained and the potential of the area does not become lost due to pollution.
Problems with the environment that experience a decline in quality are an important issue due to the development of ecotourism areas. The purpose of developing ecotourism areas is indeed successful in growing the economy and improving economic development, but it does not have a good impact on the region’s environment.
Therefore, socialization is needed and fostering a sense of awareness to protect the environment of the region so that it can continue to radiate the charm of natural beauty and will always be a special attraction for tourists visiting the ecotourism area.
